From Hardcoded to High-Converting: A 20% Checkout Lift for Tonic Health

Tonic Health is one of the UK’s leading vitamin brands, born in 2019 to give people the strength, clarity, and resilience that modern life demands. Because you can’t fix 21st-century problems with 20th-century vitamins. Tonic isn’t just about vitamins, it’s about starting a health movement. We were excited to come on this journey with them! 
Their need.
  • Limitations with previous set-up, using Dawn as a base theme but it had been coded and created in a way which meant that all settings have been stripped out from the theme, there wasn’t an ability to edit anything. 
  • It was hardcoded and removed most Shopify functionalities
  • New site launch required ahead of Black Friday
This has been by far the smoothest launch we’ve ever had. Everything went live without a hitch. No bugs and no issues, which is almost unheard of!

Our Response
  • Extended the Impact theme’s default functionality significantly
  • Dynamic variant switching: 
    • The entire PDP (colour scheme, icons, bullets, content) changes based on the selected variant
    • Smooth transitions and improved user experience
  • Utilised Shopify blocks for USPs and PDP sections, allowing the client to easily reorder and customise content. 
  • Integrated and customised Skio subscription, focusing on driving subscription-first purchasing 
    • Rebuilding parts of the widget to better align with To nic’s brand and UX goals
  • Migrated large amounts of product and variant data into Shopify meta objects for easier data management. 
    • Enabled more flexible and dynamic data use across the site (e.g. PDP, product cards). 
  • Built a new landing page block (mirroring PDP layout) to promote subscription bundles outside of product pages. 
  • Restyled Rebuy elements for a cleaner, more on-brand checkout experience
