Brindisa

Rebuilding Shopify Foundations for Scalable Growth

Brindisa is the UK’s leading Spanish food authority, supplying premium Spanish ingredients for over 38 years. It combines D2C with significant B2B operations. The name – derived from the Spanish word brindis, meaning a celebratory toast – reflects the company’s mission: to celebrate the varied cultures, landscapes, and exceptional artisanal foods of Spain.
Their need.
  • The ability for their internal team to build ad-hoc landing pages and rich content without agency intervention.
  • A specific focus on improvements to Add to Cart (ATC) and Conversion Rates (CVR) through a modern UX.
Their challenges.
  • The previous environment was built on an older Shopify framework that lacked modularity and forced a reliance on hard-coded Liquid changes.
  • Recipes—a core part of the Brindisa brand—were not optimised for search or user experience and were difficult to manage.
  • The site relied on outdated metafield structures and a complex web of apps that hindered the native Shopify theme editor experience.
  • The site lacked an “editorial” feel, making it hard to create the high-end, content-rich pages the brand required.
"In the five months since launching Shopify 2.0, we have seen a significant uplift in sales and a 68% increase in conversion rate."
- The Ecomm Team, Brindisa
Our response.
  • Built the new site using the Quickfire theme, leveraging flexible, block-based sections powered by Shopify theme blocks. These were carefully structured to support page-building flexibility while aligning with the design and maintaining strong brand consistency throughout. This included integrating tailored theme sections, such as a content grid for modern layouts and editorial blocks featuring rich text, imagery, and decorative elements that can be seamlessly incorporated into pages and articles for enhanced storytelling.
  • The Metaobject-based recipe system replaced an app-driven multiple metafield setup, consolidating all data into a single, easily manageable source of truth. Each recipe Metaobject is referenced within articles, dynamically displaying ingredients, timings, and method. Users can also purchase Brindisa products featured in the recipe directly from the article.
  • Built a custom new and improved date picker for better delivery UX.
  • Revised the pre-order user journey for better seasonal performance.
  • Improved discount utilisation via SupaEasy.
  • Conducted a full tidying of metafields and moved to native Shopify 2.0 and Quickfire V5 built-in features, reducing the reliance on third-party apps like Rebuy.
  • Partner Integration: Seamlessly integrated a streamlined tech stack featuring Klaviyo (Marketing), Yotpo (Reviews), and Recharge (Subscriptions).
And was the client happy?

Quickfire is a high-quality team with deep Shopify expertise, strong project management, and a collaborative approach that made the entire process smooth and well-structured." - The Ecomm Team, Brindisa
