While the UK lockdown has resulted in a number of changes in our behaviour, the natural human thirst for knowledge and desire for interaction has not disappeared.
Although physical meetings, industry events and networking sessions have had to be put on pause, we are still talking to and seeing each other via Zoom and taking advantage of online alternatives to big gatherings.
The physical void is being filled, to an extent, by webinars. Google Trends – the simple-to-use platform which shows patterns in how we use search engines – tells a simple story: we are looking for webinars way more than in the previous five years.
With this in mind, I have decided to put together a round-up of some of my favourite digital and marketing webinars so read on and get involved to keep on learning.
The lovely Joe Glover has built an amazing community through a series of networking groups dotted across the country. As a result of lockdown, he has turned to running a bunch of fantastic webinars with stellar guests. Joe’s got the likes of Rand Fishkin, Lisa Targett and Dave Gerhardt featuring on the webinar – wow.
Not only does The Marketing Meetup offer awesome webinars they also run online workshops and a weekly conversation club.
Following the success of the 2019 conference, Yotpo created Destination: D2C Online, a series of webinars and panels, discussing the most important issues facing e-commerce today. In partnership with phenomenal companies such as Recharge and Klarna, along with some amazing guests including Noel Mack, the Chief Brand Office GymShark, these webinars are a must-watch for any company working in e-commerce.
Our good friend Lucy Marks has built one of the strongest networking communities in Norfolk through years of fantastic events and panels. Due to the lockdown, these events have been moved to online webinars, creating the Norfolk Network At Home Webinar Series featuring inspirational business stories and practical advice for working from home and adapting to the new challenges Covid-19 is presenting.
Known for their extensive online resource hub, marketingweek.com’s latest series, The Lockdown, is a regular update from leaders in the marketing industry on how they are addressing challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
